Get Your Snowboots Ready!

As Provincetown gears up for yet another nor’easter this week, we at the Harbor Hotel are thinking of our wonderful townies and wish them only the best through their snow-filled endeavors.

It has been a particularly busy week in the eyes of the Harbor Hotel in regards to new tourism opportunities.  Our General Manager, Michael Dougherty, has recently returned from the annual convention of the American Bus Associations, ABA, held in the wildly eclectic southern city of Nashville, Tennessee.  Michael had begun the ever-present process of building and maintaining strong relationships with tourism professionals from around the country by networking with more the than 3,000 attendees. He was able to spread the enriching word of the quirky and eccentric-yet alluringly beautiful-Cape Cod town that we have all come to love.  The Harbor Hotel, while offering ample parking for motor coaches and all who inhabit them, has been able to attract tour possibilities from as far as California – an almost untapped market to the usual motor coach business seen on the Cape.  We will be partnering with other businesses in Provincetown to enhance our chance, as a whole, in educating the visitors of all Provincetown has to offer while entertaining and servicing their every vocational need.

As the winter pushes through, we are making numerous changes to our hotel both inside and out.  With the assistance of the Director of Catering at our sister property, the Providence Biltmore Hotel, we have begun a revamp of our menu for the Whaler Lounge, our in-house eatery, to better suit the wants needs of our guests and events held at the Harbor Hotel.  Also, while menu planning is in progress, the hotel is providing it’s bathrooms with a face lift so that our guests are more than comfortable while spending their summer in the picturesque Provincetown.

Stay tuned for updates!

Happy Holidays!

As winter commences, we look back on the 2013 season with great happiness and a warm demeanor towards our beloved Provincetown.   We have worked diligently to develop a strong relationship with both the town and its businesses alike. About a month Jim Bakker, renowned art enthusiast in the P’Town community, held a spectacularly phenomenal art auction in the Whaler Lounge.  Smiles and laughter were seen and heard as the ever-loving crowd shuffled around the beautifully appointed displays.  There was no more populous place than the Harbor Hotel that November afternoon as Jim successfully auctioned off 160+ paintings and sculptures to our enticed visiting guests. “This is just the beginning!” Jim said as he began to think of next year’s possibilities.

While the Harbor Hotel lies dormant to guests for the upcoming months, modifications are beginning to take place as our bathroom renovations launch.  What our guests ask is what our guests shall receive!

From our home to yours, Happy Holidays and cheers to a very happy New Year! We look forward to seeing you in 2014!

Winter Is Coming!

The Harbor Hotel has officially closed for the winter months. We have temporarily shut our doors to complete bathroom renovations for the upcoming 2014 season. We wanted to take a moment to thank each and every one of you for your continued support of our beautiful hotel! Thanks to you, we were able complete our 2013 season – standing tall – as our best financial year on record. We have come a long way in the past few years and we anticipate an even better outcome for 2014. Hard work and undying dedication has gone into the day-to-day functions of operating and restructuring this hotel to fit the wants and needs of our ever-changing clientele. Provincetown, as you can imagine, has thrown its share of challenges at us; however, with a dedicated, loyal, and loving staff like ours, we were destined for greatness.

Reservations for the 2014 season can continuously be made on our website, throughout the winter months. I will also be taking reservations via telephone while stationed at our sister property, Providence Biltmore, until returning to Provincetown for next year’s exciting adventure! Please feel free to comment, message, email, or call into the hotel for any questions that you may have – keep an eye out for our winter posts!

Once again, we want to thank you all for such a wonderful year, The Harbor Hotel wouldn't be half of what it is today without your continued support. I look forward to seeing each and every one of you come next season!

Don’t forget – we will be writing on this blog all winter, so visit often and stay in touch!

Happy Holidays!
